Arani Maratha, Sri Venkata Rao, Copper Unit, 3.50 grams, Obv. Hanuman to Right, Rev. Nagari legend “Sri Venkata Rao” in two lines within a square, (Venkat Rao was appointed as Governor by Thanjavur Maratha Ruler Thulsaji, but later he declared independence and issued coins in his own name), It is the only issue known of Arani Maratha, (Ganesh, Tamilnadu 13.38), Very Fine, Rare.
