Australian Army Rising Sun Hat Badge: Silver badge, 7.90 grams, with makers marks on reverse and pin and clasp fitting. This badge, designed in 1904, was the third version of the so-called Rising Sun badge with a scroll inscribed 'Australian Commonwealth Military Forces'. It was worn during both World Wars. The badge was first issued in 1902 to Australian mounted troops in South Africa when it had only the word 'Australia' above a King's Crown. There are seven versions of the badge, with the current version issued in 1991. Extra Fine, Rare.
