Muhammad Shah (1719-1748 AD), Silver Rupee, Dar al-Khilafah, Shahjahanabad mint, AH1151RY21, Shroff mark ‘Shri’ on reverse, KM 437.4, 11.01 grams. The year AH1151 (1738-39) was marked by Nadir Shah’s invasion of India. Many of the Rupees of Shahjahanabad mint dated in that year were taken by Nadir Shah as loot to Iran – but en route, plundered by the Bhatis of the Eastern Rajasthan desert. Very Fine+, Scarce.
