Maratha Confederacy, domains of the Peshwas – silver rupee, 11.5 grams, 23.21mm, in the name of Muhammad Shah, Baramati mint, RY10 Baramati was the domain of the powerful banker Babuji Naik Joshi Baramatikar. The mint at Baramati was operated under his auspices. On this coin, the mint-name is inscribed with a long ‘Ye’ at the end of the last letter, which appears as a divider towards the bottom margin of the reverse. This is an unusual feature. This is one of the finest specimen to comeup in an auction, two test marks otherwise Uncirculated.
