Travancore Cochin State, Brass pass/teller token of the state treasury, sub-treasury office at Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram), state emblem of Sankha shell on the obverse and etched number 1699 on reverse, c. 1950-1955, 14.50 grams. The state of Travancore-Cochin was formed by the merger of the two princely states of the same names in 1950 and remained in existence till 1956. The state had four districts and 36 taluks. The Treasury Department ran the finances of the state. Sub-treasuries were located at the headquarters of every taluk. Very Fine, Rare.
