Archaic Punch-Marked Coinage from the Magadha Janapada, Nanda Dynasty (c. 343-321 BCE) – Silver Karshapana, weighing 3.3g, The obverse displays five prominent punches: 1. A six-armed symbol, 2. The sun, 3. A five-arched hill, 4. A triangle-headed standard facing right with two taurines beneath on each side. This coin belongs to Series IVd, catalogue number 450, as recorded by P.L. Gupta and T.R. Hardaker. Scarce.
