Archaic Punch-Marked Coinage from the Magadha Janapada, Nanda Dynasty (c. 343-321 BCE) – Silver Karshapana, weighing 3.1g , The obverse displays five prominent punches: 1. A six-armed symbol, 2. The sun, 3. Rectangle enclosed two fishes facing each other, above and tangent a large outline arch enclosing a three arched hil, above a dumbbell sideways, 4. Vertical Spear encased in upper part of solid shape with inward- curving sides each harbouring a taurine, a taurine also either side of spear shaft, 5.
