Description
Indo-Greek Coinage, Apollodotos I (c. 174-165 BCE) – Silver Drachm, weighing 2.40g.Obv: featuring an elephant standing, with a monogram in the exergue. Rev: Maharajasa Apaladatasa tradarasa (of Great King Apollodotos the Savior), depicting a bull standing to the right, with a monogram in the exergue. The coin has a quadrangular flan and is believed to have been minted in the Paropamisadai or Gandhara region. It is cataloged in Bopearachchi Series 4-5, ODH#119. This monogram is considered Rare.
